while calculating likelihood estimation i am not able to understand what is yi,is it label of ith example or is it the value of all possible labels of yi

For a training point:
yi is the label of a particular point.

For a testing point:
When we pass a testing point in our model then the model returns a probability of a point to belong in the Class 1, we classify the point and assign it a class based on that probability and hence in that case also yi becomes the class.
