Why we did +1 after min(x,y,z)

why we did +1 after min (x, y ,z). I didnt understand.Can u tell me again

lets say you want to calculate min coins to make ‘n’ amount.
so it will be min_coins[n] = 1 + min_coins[n-k].
that +1 is because you added the coin of denomination ‘k’.
