Why Wouldn’t he Do m-1. Why is he doing M-2. i Didn’t Understand his Explanation

if we are at i th row then we are adding i+1 th row in it right?

when we will be at i=m-1 th row ,then there will be no row beneath it right ?

this is why we are starting i from i=m-2 and not i=m-1
