sir, I understood what has been done in the video but what was the objective of splitting the data into train and test, I was unable to understand that
Whats the objective
Hey @naman_kr_301, in Machine Learning algorithms, we train our model that is going to make predictions later on right ? So the data that we use to train our model or teach our model how to make predictions is called dataset. Now if we will use the whole dataset for training our model , then how will we test the performance of our model ??. So that’s why we need some data (to use later on after training), so that after training, we can test our model on that. Hence we need to divide our dataset into training and testing sets.
