I’m trying to better understand acceleration for a project and keep getting confused about which values I need to calculate it correctly. Are there any simple methods or tools you use to quickly work out acceleration from speed and time data? Any practical examples would be appreciated.

Plug the numbers into any calculator or spreadsheet; for instance, 0 → 60 km/h in 10 s gives 6 km/h per second (≈1.67 m/s²). What everyday situations have you measured that need this?

I usually just plug the three known values—initial speed, final speed, and time—into an online calculator; gigacalculator.com lets me do that in any unit (mph, km/h, m/s) and instantly gives acceleration in m/s² or g, plus a quick deceleration option. For example, entering 0 mph to 60 mph in 8 s shows about 2.7 m/s².
