At 5:04 the mentor tells that if we take variable b then it would have the same memory location. But what if any value gets changed. Would both values be updated?

When value is changed the variable whose value is changed is assigned new memory block. Yes there is also a concept about shallow copy and deep copy, you can understand it better after learning these concepts.
