Singned = signed int?

why is signed x=5; a valid statement. we didn’t declare x’s data type.

The following data modifiers have default type as int:

  1. Signed
  2. Unsigned
  3. Short
  4. Long

You can use 1. and 2. with char also. But, you have explicitly specify it.
