The course says we need to be on a linux system or dual boot with one. Can we use virtual box for this purpose.?
Regarding use of linux
Hi @Abdwasi issue with using a virtual box is that each time you are in a virualise enviroment you need to reconfigure your jupyter or any other platform you would be using for your python development. Secondly, initially while setting up your virtual enviroment you would just provide a small amount of your disk and ram to your linux OS, thus making you unable to use your system’s potenial to the fullest. And moreover the disadvantage is adding an extra layer of indirection between the hardware and the application you want to run.
And on top of that there is still a performance difference between running applications in a VM and on “bare metal”.
Its preffered to have linux or you should dual boot your machine
Hope this might helps
Every version of the Linux operating system manages hardware resources, launches and manages applications, and offers some form of user interface. Because of the enormous developer community and wide range of distributions, a Linux version is available for almost any task, and Linux has permeated many areas of computing. For example, Linux has emerged as a popular operating system for web servers such as Apache, network operations, scientific computing tasks that require large compute clusters, running databases, desktop and endpoint computing, and running mobile devices with OS versions such as Android.
