i don’t understand why to maximise product of both probabilities

Hey @ishaan_123, consider that you have two classes 0, and 1. Now for an example that belongs to the 1 class, you model predicted 0.9 that’s great. But now consider an example to class 0 and your model predicted 0.1 probability of belonging to 1 class.

Now your model has given good result, this means reward given to the model should be 0.9 and not 0.1. That is the reason we need to maximize product of both probabilities.
