Permutations issue

in the video sir has said something about usefulness of set stl in storing permutations of a number having repeated digits.
i did not understand what sir said,would it be ok if u tell it elaborately?

sir said that if you have to find permutation of string whose character may repeat
for ex aab
then permutation for this after calculating using recursion comes
aab,aba,aab,aba,baa,baa
but actualy they are aab, aba, and baa
so to get this we can insert/store them in a set
