Overlapping rectangles

if these two rectangles touch via edges then,should we consider them as overlapping or not.

Two rectangles overlap if the area of their intersection is positive. To be clear, two rectangles that only touch at the corner or edges do not overlap.

So no you should not consider these rectangles as overlapping.
