what is the use of char ch = singleDigitNumber + ‘A’ - 1; and pls explain the execution process

eg :

input :123
u get the digit 1
singleDigitNumber = 1
1+‘A’ - 1
will give u upper case character’
if 2 is encountered
then 2+‘A’-1
would give B
we are dealing with ascii value and then converting to char
