Linked list 1 insertion

please tell me if i am calling function insertAtHead then insert 0 and update head then insert 1 and update head and so on…
for example :
first insert 0
second insert 1
third insert 2
then finally head point 2 but you tell starting from 0 why ???

if u always insert new element at the head then the formed list will be->
2->1->0
and head will point at 2
