How does a boundary becomes smoother with increasing k?
In k-NN what will happen when you increase/decrease the value of k?
hey @fguglani ,
This is true that boundary will become smoother but until a particular value of K is achieved.
The value of k depends on the data , with scaled data in can be different. Hence, to perform better you need to find the best value of k .
high values of k takes into consideration more points/voters for prediction and hence becomes more resilient to outliers . That is why , the resulting decision boundary becomes more smoother resulting reduced variance and high bias.
I hope this would have resolved your doubt.
