In chamber question why have we added 2c-s zeroes and what's the intuition beging taking 1st and last element after sorting

See, we can always be sure that average will be less than greatest number and more than the smallest number. Now as we can only put two elements in one chamber, we first find the chambers which will have only 1 element (2c-s)(now we can either add this many zeros or we will first take 2c-s elements and put them in box, them make pairs for remaining).
We are picking smallest and largest because, largest element is already away from mean if we add number to it its difference from mean will increase further so to minimize this diff we add the smallest number available to us.
