How is Bi=li+1?

To find the botton right, we should take the Bi and Bj as equal to Li and Lj respectively. Why in this lecture it is given as Bi=li+1 & Bj=Lj+1??

Yes it should be Bi and Bj. But if you do not want to consider 1x1 submatrices…then you can take it as li+1 and Lj+1

But what do we need to take generally?? Bi & Bj naa?
