i am working with windows. My git add . command is taking too long to run and then it failed with error filename too long to open so fatal: addng files failed.

Hey @Sukhmanjeet, make sure file name of any file is not too long, if you don’t find any such file, than use this command,
git config --system core.longpaths true
and than use git add .
