Doubt regarding depth

i want to know more about this depth concept… for good result depth should be more or less??

The value of the depth totally depends upon the number of features you have in your original data. For example, if we have a data with 20 features, too small a value of max_depth won’t give us good predictions because the convergence won’t be reached. In such a case, a value of 15-25 would be optimum, hit and trial between this range will give you the best value you should use.
