Doubt in installing Github command line tool

When I am writing git status in cmd after installing the Github command-line tools, it is giving me the below-mentioned error::
fatal: not a git repository (or any of the parent directories): .git

Hey @Mohit2000, don’t worry that’s not an issue. You need to first be inside a git repository to be able to successfully execute this command git status.
