About the no. of dimensions to state the resultant matrix

why do we need (n+1 ) dimensions to state the matrix multiplication of n matrices?

Say 2 matrices
Then
if matrix 1 is axb
then matrix 2 will be bxc (to multiply b must be same)
hence a b c i.e n+1 dimensions

for 3 matrices
axb
bxc
cxd
=> a b c d
i.e n+1 dimensions

Hope this helps :slight_smile:

Thanks I understood it. Pls can you explain me the entire matrix chain multiplication because I am facing difficulty in understanding it.
