why we still do -1 in lower boind after using comparator ? plz explain i am not getting it

hello @avverma11057 -1 suggest that the element is not there in the array thats why we return -1.
but if the element is there in the array then this -1 will be updated to the location of the element in the array.

i am talking about lb=lower bo… - coins -1; this -1 after coins why we are doing it
