How the system differs whether “1000” is 8 or minus 8?

@gargbhawna1997 There are a number of representations is the system. Some of them are signed number and unsigned numbers, IEEE conventions etc. signed numbers may have one leftmost bit to indicate sign. for eg. to represent -8 in signed, it will show 11000 leftmost represent minus sign and rest bits represents magnitude. sometime system also stores them in 2’s complement/1’s complement form.
