What Should You Look for in a Proprietary Trading Firm?

I’m considering joining a proprietary trading firm and there seem to be huge differences between them. Besides capital allocation, what factors matter most—payout reliability, trading platforms, risk management, support, or something else? I’d love to hear from traders who’ve worked with prop firms and what made the biggest difference in their experience.

Jumping in on this older post because I think this is still a big question. One thing that often gets overlooked is how transparent the firm is about their fee structure and any hidden rules. Have you looked into their track record for honoring payouts, especially during bad months? That’s the real test of a good prop firm.

I’ve found payout reliability and risk management matter most. When selecting a proprietary trading firm, I personally use proprietary trading firm for its flexible payouts, strong support, and no demo requirement. The advanced platform and secure capital management made a real difference for my trading.
