Your logic of checking prime is completely illogical.
Please refer this for better understanding and it is much faster method of generating primes.

we just need to find all the prime numbers between a and b in less time and count them.
Sieve Algo gives the prime number till n,here just generate prime between a and b,then count the number of primes.
