In the question explanation, It says Nimit can pick either 3 or 1 and Piyush will pick 2. But if Nimit picks 1 then Piyush will pick 3, or have I not understood properly?

if player 1 pick 4 . then we are left with 1 2 3 ,so now player 2 can pick either 1 or 3.
if player 1 pick 1 . then we are left with 2 3 4 ,so now player 2 can pick either 2 or 4.
