can you explain what is carry over.
and
why we are adding the first element of array one to the second element of array two

Just imagine the two arrays as two numbers with their most significant digit as their first element. Now you have to add these two numbers as you normally add two numbers in mathematics. The carry over of a particular digit position is given to the next digit.
