NCR problem , can’t understand the function parameters and their name

Why did we not make 3 functions in ncr problem?
One for n
One for r
One for n-r
Also tell me it is not necessary to have the same name of parameters in functions which declared in main.

we don’t need to have different function as the work is same you can call the same function with different values.
