Is an Introductory Flight Lesson Worth It Before Committing to Training?

I’ve never flown an aircraft before but I’m interested in becoming a pilot. For those who’ve taken an introductory flight lesson, did it help you decide whether flight training was right for you? What was your first experience at the controls like?

Jumping in on this older post, I had limited flying experience before my intro flight, and it was eye-opening! Beyond just the thrill, it helped me decide if I was genuinely interested in a flying career. The hands-on experience is unique, and you get a real sense of the environment you’ll be working in. Anyone else want to share their first moments at the controls?

Taking an introductory flight lesson can be super insightful. I was in your shoes and decided to try one at a flight school near me, and it was eye-opening. Getting hands-on with the controls gave me a great feel for flying. The instructors were fantastic, and it helped me confirm that pursuing pilot training was the right choice. Definitely worth considering before committing!
