whats the point of making node*next= NULL in the node class ??

You must have read about bad pointer while studing pointers and function.
This is to avoid any error due to such bad pointers.

Moreover, when you create a node,
Does it points to any other node.
No.
Thus, next pointing to NULL signifies that this node is not pointing any node.
