Increasing decreasing sequence

I could not understand the question properly. The sample sequence has only increasing numbers so how can it be divided into two different sequences?
Kindly explain the problem statement more precisely.

hello @shreyasdaga in this question the word strictly is tricky that means A function f(x) is said to be strictly increasing on an interval I if f(b)>f(a) for all b>a, where a,b in I. On the other hand, if f(b)>=f(a) for all b>a, the function is said to be (nonstrictly) increasing.
in this it can be either strictly increasing or decreasing also .
