Increasing decreasing sequence problem doubt

i am unable to understand what we have to do in this question …elaborate plz

in this problem you have to basically consider 4 cases

  1. the sequence can be either monotonically increasing
  2. the sequence can be either monotonically decreasing
  3. it can be either first increasing then decreasing
  4. it can be either first decreasing then increasing.
    if any of the case is true then answer is “yes”
    try working upon this.
