Increasing Decreasing Sequence 1

As per the editorial mentioned they have considered either the sequence can be strictly increasing or decreasing but what if the sequence is [1,2,3,4,5,4,3,2].
I can split it into [1,2,3,4,5] which is strictly increasing and [4,3,2] which is strictly decreasing.

we can have first increasing then decresing order;
or strictly increasing order
or strictly decreasing order
thats what editorial wants to say.
