I am curretly pursuing BE in Computer Science(2021 Batch) in NSIT. Initially I was interested in competitve coding and used to give contests on codechef, codeforces. My current rating on codechef is 1870. Although I feel I have a lot to learn about various algo and ds for cp especially in graphs. I started web dev as a part time hobby on freecodecamp. However my interest shifted to dev after exploring its huge possibilities for building applications in real life. Currently I am also enrolled in data science course on coding blocks. However most of my seniors say you should focus more on cp at this stage. Please note that I am still pretty weak in knowledge of various advanced algorithms and my rating is probably due to my strong aptitude. Still I solve nearly all questions which dont require complex ds or algos(like segment tree, policy based ds, game theory). But, I strongly feel I should be developing apps which actually will make my life easier as I have many ideas in my mind. However I cant develop due to lack of adequete skills. So, should I focus more on developing such projects or concenterate on cp. Although I do enjoy solving projecteuler problems as I find them more relevant and basically are based on some cool logical stuff and not just implementing a 100 line ds just to pass time limit of a question which actually has pretty easy logic. P.S. My family is ecnomically stable hence I dont care that much of money and focus more on learning.
