How to increase the accuracy od diabetes classification challenge

I have applied simple knn on diabetes classification challenge but I am getting an accuracy of 66% can you suggest me how to improve its accuracy
also how to select the value of k ?

To increase accuracy with KNNs, try tweaking the value of k (10 - 13 might give you a good result).

is there any method for selecting value of k or any paramerter to look for specifically or
only hit and trial is the only way out
also after selecting the value between 10-13 accuracy is only varing between 66-68%

Hit and trial and some prior knowledge of data origin is the only way to find an optimal value of k.
